WORDMONICS by Lois
When you enter the world of Wordmonics, you'll embark upon a fun and challenging word journey.  Of course if you're a word game lover and
player, you're already on a word journey.  Wordmonics is going to make your journey a whole lot spicier!

Wordmonics combines "word" and "mnemonics."  So what you get is a memory device for  words.  Remember Roy G. Biv? He taught us the
colors of the spectrum.

                                            Red
                                   Orange
                                   Yellow
                                   Green
                                   Blue
                                   Indigo
                                   Violet

Wordmonics work almost the exact same way. Remembering the rules of spelling can be a pain at times.  Sure "I" goes before "E," but not
always.  And PH makes an "F" sound? What's up with that?  Wordmonics says "phooey" to all of that and lets you remember a fun clue instead.

My personal pet peeve is silent letters, which can be particularly vexing.  For example,  there's no "c" sound in the word ACQUIT, but there's that
pesky "c" anyway.  In the heat of a game, the rules of spelling tend to become harder to remember, so, rather than taking the risk of playing
'aquit' and getting challenged, think about something a lot more common.  Here's the clue to help you remember that "c."

The cooling unit stopped working.

YES! The cooling unit stopped working! Let's look at the word acquit. Forget about rules of spelling, and just  look for familiar patterns or words
inside the word.  Looking at acquit, we see the word 'quit' which we all know.  We have 'ac' left. A.C. as in the universal abbreviation for 'air
conditioner.'  So we get "the air conditioner quit"  or as I said before "the cooling unit stopped working."  Is there any chance that you'll ever play
'aquit' or write that you hope the jury will 'aquit' some celebrity? Not bloody likely!

Besides helping you to recognize familiar words on your rack,Wordmonics also enables you to learn those off-the-wall words only good for word
games.  And finding Bingos (seven-letter words) is as easy as:

Q: What does a pop up turkey say?
                A: AMIDONE

You don't need to know or care what "amidone" means, you just need to know how to spell it.  And you remember that by breaking it down into
three words that you already know: Am I done?  Bingo! You have a bingo and a 50 point bonus without even trying hard.

Brilliant in its simplicity!
